General information
The Amsterdam Institute for International Development (AIID) is a joint initiative of the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Both universities have a long history and an outstanding reputation in scientific education and research in a broad range of disciplines. AIID was founded in 2000 by the two universities as a network linking their best experts in international development and to engage in policy debates.
